Boise police identify six officers involved in fatal shooting on N. 20th St.

The Boise Police Department has identified the six officers who were involved in a shooting on N. 20th St. on the evening of July 27th.

Around 10:20 p.m. on the evening of July 27, 2023, officers responded to a situation involving an armed subject, later identified as 27-year-old Macey Juker, on the 700 block of N. 20th St. Responding officers heard shots fired, requested additional officers in support, and responded to the suspects location.

According to BPD, several officers responded and attempted to take the suspect into custody when he opened fire at them. Six officers returned fire, ultimately killing Juker at the scene.

Sgt. J. Pietrzak (27 years law enforcement experience), Sgt. K. Rush (18.5 years law enforcement experience), Officer R. Pollard (3.5 years law enforcement experience), Officer C. Fiddler (4.5 years law enforcement experience), Officer D. Rogers (6 years law enforcement experience), and Officer C. Sousa (3.5 years law enforcement experience).

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) is being led by the Garden City Police in an ongoing investigation, which is protocol for any use of force situation.
