Dolores O’Riordan was an Irish singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. She was the lead vocalist for the Irish Rock band The Cranberries. They’ve released 7 studio albums and 6 EPs as of January 2018. Her discography as a solo artist includes Are You Listening? (2007) and No Baggage (2009). O’Riordan was born on September 6, 1971, in Limerick, Ireland. Her parents were Eileen and Terence. She had 6 older siblings. O’Riordan was educated at Laurel Hill Colaiste FCJ school in Limerick.

CAREER
O’Riordan began her music career with Cranberry Saw Us (now The Cranberries) in the early 1990s. She replaced singer Niall Quinn as the band’s lead singer. The other members are Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan, and Fergal Lawler. The Cranberries have sold more than 40 million records worldwide. Their debut studio album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?, was released in March 1993 by Island Records. It peaked at #1 in Ireland and the United Kingdom. It produced the singles “Dreams”, “Linger” and “Sunday”. They followed up with the albums, No Need to Argue (1994), To the Faithful Departed (1996), Bury the Hatchet (1999), and Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (2001). The Cranberries went on a 6-years hiatus from 2003 to 2009. After regrouping, The Cranberries released the albums; Roses (2012) and Something Else (2017). Their accolades over the years include a Juno Award for best-selling album, and an MTV Europe Music Award for best song.

O’Riordan’s debut solo album, Are You Listening?, was released in May 2007. It was led by the single “Ordinary Day”. The album charted at #15 in Ireland and has sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide. Her sophomore album, No Baggage, arrived in August 2009. It featured production from Canadian record producer Dan Brodbeck. O’Riordan was featured on the compilation album, Zu & Co. (2004) by Zucchero Fornaciari. She’s also worked with Angelo Badalamenti, and Jam & Spoon. She was honored with the European Border Breakers Award in 2008. O’Riordan was also a member of the alternative rock band D.A.R.K. The other members are Ole Koretsky and Andy Rourke. Their debut project, Science Agrees, was released in September 2016.

Dolores O’Riordan died on January 15, 2018, at the age of 46. Her reported cause of death was accidental drowning due to alcohol intoxication. She died unexpectedly in London, England. O’Riordan was 5ft 2in tall and she was of Irish descent. Her net worth was estimated at $25 million prior to her death. She was dubbed one of the richest women in Ireland in 2006. O’Riordan was married ‘Don Burton’ from 1994 to 2014. They had three children, Taylor Baxter, Molly Leigh, and Dakota.
