The Iconic Time Travel Telugu Film - Aditya 369 Turns 30!

Aditya 369, directed by Singeetam Sreenivas Rao, completes 30 years today. This science-fiction was released on 18 July 1991 which is produced by Sridevi Movies. It is the first Indian film based on time travel and the Aditya 369 features Nandamuri Balakrishna, Mohini, Amrish Puri, Tinnu Anand, and Suthivelu.

This is one such movie where the Telugu viewers were proud for showcasing a new concept as one could potentially jump into a machine and change the present to past and so. We fall short of words to laud Singeetham Sreenivas for his imagination in the early 90s and time travel is a subject that fascinated each one of us, including kids.

The idea of such a thing is incredibly intriguing and holds a certain mystique that inevitably draws us in. And Aditya 369 successful proved so. The main pillar of the movie also goes to Illayaraja for his beautiful BGM and songs. The film received two Nandi Awards for Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction. It was dubbed into Hindi as Mission 369 and into Tamil as Apoorva Sakthi 36.

The sequences of Srikrishna Devaraya is always considered the highlight of the film and it is amazing how the makers have executed such a brilliant idea into a movie in early 1990’s. Singeetham said that he read a book called The Time Machine by H.G.Wells when he was a student. Aditya 369 was inspired by the same. The film is one of the best movies in NBK’s career and he has unequivocally been one of the gems to elevate the film’s overall enjoyability.

It is elated to learn that this thought-provoking classic is still one of the most profound films ever made involving time travel and we cannot thanks enough the visionary filmmaker for this masterpiece. Happy 30 to the film that never made us bored no matter how many times we have watched it!
