According to multiple news reports, when Sagrika reacted to the trailer, she said that it is hard to put into words how it feels to see her story being told. Watching the trailer, she felt like she was reliving her battle. She said that she believes that it is important for people to know her story and see how immigrant mothers or parents are being treated even today. She revealed that she is currently in touch with Ariha Shah's mother Dhara, whose daughter was taken away in Germany.
She added saying that she is thankful to Rani Mukerji for channelling the grief and struggles that she went through to win back her children. She further stated that Rani is a mother herself and she thanks her for bringing a mother's painful journey on screen with so much dignity that she broke down while seeing Rani in the trailer.
Sagrika Chakraborty's children were taken away from her by the Norwegian Child Welfare Services citing habits that are commonplace in Indian society.
