CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — Irrigation season in the Caldwell area hasn't even started yet and officials are asking the community to conserve.
The City and the Pioneer Irrigation District anticipate delivery flows to be 70 percent of normal this season, which begins April 29.
"Due to current drought conditions, minimal irrigation storage water carried over from last irrigation season, and below normal snowpack, the 2022 irrigation season will result in the reduced delivery of irrigation water from the start of the season," the city said. " The reduced irrigation delivery will aid in stretching the short water supply through the irrigation season."
Officials are recommending residents water their properties on odd/even days based on your address (if it ends on an even number, then water on even number days).
The Nampa and Meridian Irrigation District echoed a similar conservation request for the upcoming watering season.
