BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Thousands of children got up early Wednesday and made their way to Ann Morrison Park to attend Cap Ed Kid's Day at the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. Pilots offered free tethered rides to children who came from all over the country and beyond.
One girl I spoke with flew from her homeland of Bavaria, Germany to attend the show. She said it was worth the trip. "It was really amazing, the view was breathtaking." I also spoke with one boy who got to celebrate his eighth birthday in a hot air balloon. He said it was a great way to spend his birthday.
Laurie Spencer, co-creator of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic, said this year had a record number of children in attendance. The Spirit of Boise continues through Sunday.
