A new organization will help Idaho's African American Community.

The Idaho Black Community Alliance will officially launch on Martin Luther King Jr., Day, which is this Monday.

Organizers CBS2 talked with say the alliance is similar to the Idaho Hispanic Foundation. It will focus on business and youth along with various cultural events. It hopes to bring black business owners together to offer technical assistance and training.

"They need to know that help is available for them, there are resources out there," said Trish Walker, founder and CEO. "And sometimes when you're new in business you don't know where to go, you don't know how to get your start, you don't know where the help is, and so we're going to be that resource for the help that's needed."
